Welcome to Notre Dame Academy and Junior Academy!
Whether you are a member of the Notre Dame Academy or Junior Academy community or a first-time visitor, our Web site offers you a comprehensive overview of our school and the Sisters of Notre Dame.
As you move from page to page, you’ll experience our proud tradition of “Creating Women of Vision.”
Founded over a hundred years ago by the Sisters of Notre Dame, Notre Dame Academy and Junior Academy lead the way with exceptional opportunities for young women in a faith-based community for girls in grades 7 – 12 with:
- The largest all-girls honors and Advanced Placement program
- The largest area all-girls fine and performing arts program
- The top athletic program earning the City League All Sports Award six years in a row
- The addition of the International Baccalaureate Program anticipated Fall 2011
- The best leadership opportunities and unique programs with over 30 clubs
- The only all-girls Catholic junior high program that prepares students for a college-prep high school education while providing a jump start for taking high school level classes in seventh and eighth grade
And the results demonstrate our success. The 152 graduates of the Class of 2009 earned over $13.5 million in college awards and volunteered over 11,000 service hours in the local community, Appalachia, and beyond.
We are blessed with a strong alumni base of over 8,500 who support us in so many ways. An active group, over 270 alums attended the 2009 summer reunion. Our alums interconnect in many ways including Facebook, professional networking sessions with each other, Halloween and Easter children’s parties, the musical kick off, and the Alumnae Mass are just a few of the many activities.
We invite you to continue your trip through the Web site. The best way to get to know us if you are a sixth through eighth grader is by shadowing for the day. Our Admissions page has the details. And as always, our doors are always open to our alums and friends.
