Student Clubs and Groups

Student Council

Works to promote leadership and school spirit as the forum for student expression at NDA and in the community. Officers are elected, but all students are members. Activities include planning dances, "decking the halls" for Christmas, organizing spirit week and coordinating service projects.

Aerospace Club

This club is a fun way to discover aerospace engineering, build model rockets, and do NASA developed activities. Rocket launches, field trips, and lively discussions of real world events are the main focus.

African American Club

Open to all students interested in the African-American culture and diversity, this club's largest activity is planning and coordinating the annual Cultural Assembly held in February of each year.

Current Events Club

Through open discussions, panel presentations, and guest speakers, NDA students gain an in-depth look at and an understanding of political and diplomatic issues. Members look forward to viewing an award-winning documentary film, dining at a local restaurant featuring an ethnic cuisine, fundraising for an international cause, and visiting a historical site.

Art Club

Provides fun art activities for all students in a relaxed atmosphere where items are created as gifts or for personal pleasure.  Some projects include making candles, jewelry, vases and tie-dyed shirts or boxers.

Dance Squad

Develop dance skills, build a cohesive team who can train together, perform at various rallies and events, and share a great NDA spirit while having fun!

Horse Club

Open to any individual interested in learning about horses. The club meets in school and at local barns to discuss horse related topics such as handling, skills, nutrition, maintenance and show preparation.

Film Studies

Activities include weekly reviewings of student-chosen films and lively group discussions. Sit back and enjoy the show.

French Club

Open to anyone interested in speaking French outside class and offers a chance to speak, sing and try French cuisine.  Activities include French games, French movies, and dining on specialities of "la cuisine Francaise." Field trips include art exhibits, plays and activities with foreign language students from other schools.

Global Concerns

Plans outreach and service opportunities, organizes donations for those in need, and collects mission money in homerooms weekly.

Hispanic Club

Open to all interested in the Spanish language and the Hispanic Iberian culture. Members are invited to participate in the Day of the Dead celebration, annual Mexican Christmas dinner, movies, games, snacks and other events. Join Us!

Knitting Club

The Knitting Club activities usually consists of learning a new technique, introducing new knitters to the craft, or simply helping one another with an individual project. Everyone is welcome to join regardless of skill level or experience.

Math Club

Individuals compete in 6 weekly Ohio math contests. Students can have fun while learning through math puzzles and games.

J-JAM
(Joeseph, Jesus, and Mary)

Allows students to kick off their shoes, get comfortable, and use the Sunday Scripture to dicuss, reflect, and pray. Attending weekly is not obligation, but is encouraged in order to build a community spirit.

Latin Club

Latin Club engages in a variety of activities relating to Latin and the worlds of ancient Rome and Greece.  Annual highlights include a treasure hunt of Latin names at the Toledo Zoo, retelling mysterious ancient stories and learning about the stars and planets from a Roman point of view.

Mock Trial Club

Students compete in annual statewide competition, taking on the roles of attorneys and witnesses in a hypothetical case that is presented in an actual courtroom downtown.

Pep Club

NDA EAGLES! Let's go Blue! The spirit and pride-producing club of NDA! Activities include making signs, sponsoring pep rallies and fall bonfires, decorating windows for championship seasons and other events.  Members of the Pep Club also attend Eagle sporting events to cheer the Eagle teams on to victory.  The Pep Club supports ALL student organizations.

Diplomats

Diplomats work with the Advancement Office and are responsible for some of Notre Dame's most important events. They serve as representatives, volunteers and hostesses at many of NDA's special gatherings.

Musical

In May, student auditions are held for the musical in the upcoming Fall. All NDA students and boys from local school are welcome to try out. Students who wish to be involved with crew, makeup, costuming, orchestra and ushering can sign-up in the Fall.

Forensics- Speech Club

Open to all students interested in competing in various acting  and speaking categories.  Students choose a piece of work to improve and present at district or, possibly state competition levels and have the possibility of going on to national competitions.  Competitions are against other schools and all over Ohio.

Hip Hop Team

Hip Hop is a popular urban youth culture that is closely associated with rap music and dancing. Dance routines are arranged by captains and perfomed at various school functions. Meets regularly after school to practice. Everyone is welcome to join.
