Greetings! My name is Anastasia Desmond, and I am the Career Counselor at Notre Dame Academy. I am blessed to work alongside the very best group of gifted individuals who specialize in helping you with all of your counseling needs.

As your Career Counselor, I will work with you to develop your professional portfolio where you will house your interest inventory results, personality assessment, career research, Senior Project shadowing experience and so much more. I look forward to getting to know each of you and assisting you with your career search.

I grew up in Southern California and attended school in Northern Virginia at Christendom College where I received my Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science and Economics. Later, I started graduate studies at California State University San Bernardino and completed them at Bowling Green State University earning a Master of Arts degree in Curriculum and Instruction.

Prior to coming to NDA, I was a classroom teacher (grades K-8) for over eight years. I currently reside in Bowling Green with my husband, Michael and my four daughters: Michaela, Madeline, Meaghan and Maura.

Some Mrs. Desmond’s Favorites:

Favorite Saint: Saint Joan of Arc–because she was a woman who was tough, strong and virtuous. She contributed to the Church in a meaningful way that surpassed the traditional role of women at the time of her existence.
Favorite Moment at NDA: Visitation. I love visitation. The excitement and school spirit of the students at NDA is palpable. It’s when all the pride of academic, athletic and extra curricular activities are put on display and celebrated. The school is united.
Qualities of a favorite teacher:  passion and enthusiasm for their content area
Favorite activity outside of NDA: watching my kids swim
Philosophy: “Success is not final, failure is not fatal: it is the courage to continue that counts.”  Winston Churchill
