Congratulations to junior Veronica Gonzalez who entered a contest through the Foundation for Life’s SEAL Team. She entered and won the New Logo Design, Video Contest, and received second in the Billboard Contest. The SEAL outreach program, with The Foundation for Life, is designed for students from 8th grade through high school and collegiate level to be equipped to be an advocate of LIFE in their schools and communities.
Mr. Ed Sitter, executive director of Greater Toledo Right to Life, informed the SEAL Team about the Foundation for Life’s four different contests. Veronica was immediately interested. “When Mr. Sitter told me that I have won the Logo Design and Video Contest AND that I have received second in the billboard contest, I felt very grateful and honored,” she said. “Speaking about issues I care about is very important to me, and I am glad that I was able to use my voice to help those who cannot speak up.” Veronica was invited to a ceremony where she received her awards.
“NDA’s SEAL Team has been the main source of inspiration for me,” Veronica explained. “I joined the NDA SEAL Team my freshman year because it was a movement I was interested in and I wanted to know more. As I continued to grow in the pro life movement, Mr. Kay and my closest friends, Anna Gerken and Anna Kate Ragan, helped me to become confident in my beliefs. They encourage and support me whenever I get involved in the community to further the SEAL Team’s mission.”
Veronica is a member of the NDA SEAL Team, competed in Track and Field, is a Link Leader, Vice President of Latin Club, and a Eucharistic Minister. She takes Honors Pre-Calculus, Honors Engineering, Honors Choir, and AP English. She will attend Lourdes University to study Social Work.
