Our Junior Academy, housed within the NDA campus, is structured to create an environment where students have opportunities to build their confidence while taking ownership of their learning.

Academic success in the Junior Academy (JA) lays the groundwork for high school and college success. Our JA students are able to build their academic confidence by utilizing the following resources:
Our student-centered schedule promotes academic success through block scheduling (four classes - every other day - for 75-80 minutes), student flex time, and access to advanced classes, including high school level courses. All NDJA faculty specialize in a single subject area and collaborate to ensure a seamless learning path for our students into high school. In addition, your daughter’s school counselor will be a constant presence to help her navigate academic, emotional, or mental health needs.
Experience what it’s like to be an NDA student by being an Eagle for the Day!
Being an Eagle for a Day, your daughter can spend time with our girls, attend classes, meet our faculty and staff, and gain a better sense of the unique all-girls environment NDA offers our students.
Time: 8:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. (If your Shadow experience is on a Wednesday, please arrive at 8:45 a.m., as this is our late start date).
Per the Diocese of Toledo, acceptances into Notre Dame Academy will be communicated to all incoming students who have completed their application and interview by the Junior Academy Priority Deadline date (November 15, 2025).
Because every Junior Academy student takes part in an interview, applying by the priority deadline ensures plenty of time to schedule and complete that step. While this is the priority deadline, NDA continues enrollment for the 2026 - 2027 school year throughout the summer.

As Northwest Ohio’s only International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma World School, we begin teaching IB skills in the Junior Academy. The IB curriculum focuses on a holistic learning approach, which helps students apply knowledge. In addition to the IB curriculum, 8th-grade students who desire a greater academic challenge can take the following high school level courses:
JA students also have an opportunity to place into a high school level math appropriate to their academic level.
Our curriculum encourages students of all faiths to explore and strengthen their spiritual life by actively practicing their faith through service and worship. Weekly liturgical experiences include Mass, Adoration, or Reconciliation. All students participate in a Day of Service and an off-campus, faith-based retreat led by Seniors from our Academy. Additional opportunities for faith exploration include May Crowning, Stations of the Cross, and attending Camp Damascus.
We are committed to working with your family to help you invest in your daughter’s education. Nearly 75% of our families receive merit-based or need-based assistance. For more about NDA's tuition and our commitment to your daughter's education, please see our Tuition and Affordability page.
