When Notre Dame Academy first opened its doors in 1904, the Sisters of Notre Dame did so with a mission to educate young women and empower them to be intellectually curious, passionately faith-filled, and socially responsible servant leaders. The mission of the Sisters remains strong and woven into the fabric of today’s NDA.

Our halls tell a story of a sisterhood that spans over 100 years with thousands of young women who – over the course of their four years – become empowered to be bold. To be beautiful. To be brilliant and to be blessed.

The Sisters of Notre Dame

Notre Dame Academy is one of a global network of schools sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame. The Sisters founded NDA in 1904 to fulfill their Educational Vision:

Impelled by Jesus Christ and his mission and our rich educational heritage, we provide a Catholic-Christian environment of educational excellence for the transformation of individuals and society. We form persons who are skilled and committed to journey together in hope as witnesses and catalysts for the responsible care of all God’s creation and for justice and peace, especially for those on the margins of society.

As one of the schools around the globe sponsored by the Sisters of Notre Dame (SND), Notre Dame Academy was founded to fulfill the educational mission of the Sisters. In particular, NDA empowers young women in grades 7-12 for leadership and service. Notre Dame Academy graduates are:

To ensure the safety of each of these students, we follow the Diocese of Toledo's Youth Protection policies, requiring all faculty, staff, and volunteers complete its Standards and Guidelines, background check, and Protecting Youth/Vulnerable Adults training module.
