Happy Founders Day to our sponsors the Sisters of Notre Dame. We are so lucky to be able to see and visit daily with some of the Sisters right here on campus! Today the entire student body, faculty and staff gathered to meet and to speak with some of our very own Sisters of Notre Dame Toledo. Afterward an ice cream treat was shared by all!
The congregation of the Sisters of Notre Dame was founded in Coesfeld, Germany, on October 1, 1850. A young teacher, Hilligonde Wolbring, had a deep and devoted love for poor and orphaned children. She, along with her friend and colleague Elisabeth Kühling, dedicated themselves to educate and care for the children. Due to this charitable act of love the Sisters of Notre Dame began. Today, the Sisters of Notre Dame of the United States of America, serves in 17 countries on five continents! Thank you for all you have done and continue to do for NDA!
